    I would like to find a "Native American" recipe.  Pointers in here
    would be nice*.  My cook book collection is limited and I'd rather not
    buy a cook book for one recipe.

    dishes and I couldn't find anything under Native

|     Try the Native American notes conference.  Sorry, I don't have a
    pointer.  
    
    The food is most likely highly regionalized, being based in local food
    availability.  You might want to be more specific about what you're
    seeking.

|     A friend let me borrow her "Frugal Gourmet" one of his books has a few
    different Native American recipes, but I ended up just buying something
    for the event.
