3897.0. "BEEF: Made-Rite sandwiches" by GANTRY::HULL (Digital Consulting [Delivery]/Motown) Wed Jan 05 1994 13:41
Made-Rite Sandwiches		Al Hull
These were very famous back in the 1930's at many luncheon counters (at
least in the midwest where my dad grew up).
Serves about 6-8 sandwiches
Take a pound of cold left-over pot roast or other well-done roast beef -
run it through a meat grinder or food-processor until almost finely ground.
Mix into the meat:
	2 T.	mustard (your choice: German, Dutch, Yellow, etc)
	2  T.	catsup
	1  tsp	Worcestershire sauce
	1-2 dashes tobasco
	1 T.	dried onion flakes or 2 T. chopped fine fresh onion
	2  T.	sweet pickle relish
The above amounts can be varied per your taste.
Mix thoroughly and add water as needed to well-moisten the mixture.
Heat - preferably in a double boiler - until completely hot and all the
flavors are blended.
Serve on hamburger buns.
Enjoy
