3893.0. "Semolina (not a diet aid...8^)}..)" by CDROM::SHIPLEY (Packing my new heater...) Wed Dec 29 1993 10:03

	Can anyone help me save some time?

	I'm looking for some semolina. I'm in Merrimack, NH.
	I believe what I'm looking for is called semolina flour in the USA
	although the stuff used to make semolina pudding in England is
	exactly what I am seeking.

	I have tried the local supermarkets, DeMoulas,Shaws etc.

	All help appreciated...

    bulk food stores often have large varieties of cooking and baking
    ingredients not always found at the local supermarkets. Try them
    and/or a local health food stores.

    I purchase mine at Purity Supreme in Acton, Ma. It is found at the end
    of their pasta aisle as it is recommended for making pasta. A 3 lb bag
    was 3.19.

	Got some from East-West okay. I remembered after entering the
	note that there's a fair amount of semolina in Indian cookery
	so called in. The lady was very helpful. And 99 for 2lbs...

	Mind you, it's a bit far from Acton...8^)}

    I buy Antoine's Pasta Flour at Shaw's supermarket -- it's semolina.

    Sounds like you may want granulated semolina if you're making pudding--
    same as couscous. Most large grocery stores carry the Near East brand.
