3776.0. "THANK YOU (from the bottom of my... STOMACH!)" by MYGUY::LANDINGHAM () Tue Mar 30 1993 13:34

This weekend, when I just *had* to have home made shrimp scampi-- which
I've never made before... I went out and:

o bought the shrimp, bought the garlic, bought the pasta
o Looked at Betty for advice (nothing)
o Looked at an old Italian cookbook we had (no recipe)
o Did a search through a CD Rom recipe db we have (nadda)

FINALLY, logged in here and read through the note on Shrimp Scampi. It
gave me all the wonderful advice that I needed! The string was very
beneficial (I added the little bit of white wine, the lemon, and
parsley, and the most valuable piece of information in the string was
how long to cook the shrimp on each side.)

So, THANK YOU... all of you. This is a great resource. I've made
some wonderful things from different recipies contributed by all of
you. I've gotten some very helpful hints which I use often. And I
think of all the conferences, I use this one most frequently-- I browse
at lunchtime, and I search around holidays, dinner time, or weekends
when I want something special... Fall when I need something to do with
that Jack-o-Lantern, Christmas when I want to make those special
    Biscotti w/chocolate & almonds...

Thanks Marcia, for starting this note!

I too want to express my appreciation to all the great cooks who
    have contributed to this notesfile.

I've been in a baking frenzy lately and have tried many of the
wonderful muffin recipes found in here (the banana chocolate chip
one is sinful!) and loved them.

Also, I've been craving fish/seafood and have found many great
    ways to prepare it here.

And...my grandmother was recently diagnosed as diabetic, and I've
found some great recipes for her in here too.

So, from me too, thank you all.

Can you give us a pointer to this one? I couldn't find it with a
search on both BANANA and MUFFIN. Don't really have time to wade through
the keywords individually...they're pretty long.

Thanks.
