3758.0. "Find the Fungus" by REGENT::BROOMHEAD (Don't panic -- yet.) Thu Feb 25 1993 14:13

The doctor of a friend of mine recommended that she eat a lot of
a particular kind of mushroom. He called it "arachi" or "araki"
or something like that. Naturally, he doesn't know where she can
    *get* any.

Does anyone know where to find "araki" mushrooms (not shiitake, not
enoke) in Eastern Massachusetts? (Fresh? Dried?)

I'd check Idylwilde as a first resort. Take your money, though. :-)
I was gonna buy some dried morels, but they were almost as expensive
as the illegal kind. :-)

I'd call Bread & Circus; they know everything.

    So far:

Idylwilde knew *of* them (fresh, not dried) but didn't have them,
and couldn't imagine who might, on account of how they have the
    biggest mushroom selection around.

Bread and Circus hadn't even heard of them.

3758.6mushroom catalogs for mushroom weeniesGOLLY::CARROLLa woman full of fireFri Feb 26 1993 17:138
Someone who used to live in my apartment was in to mushroom cultivation
and I frequently get catalogs for mushrooms, mushroom growing
paraphenalia, etc. I throw them away generally but if I get another
I'll keep it for you. You might want to check out the CATALOGS
notesfile or there might be a notesfile for people in to mushroom
growing or at least general horticulture/botany....
