There's Westerman's in Worcester. It is about two blocks away
from the Centrum....I don't know the street name but is is definitely
in the phone book. It is a restaurant supply house. Pricey but good.

There are a number of restaurant supply outfits around. Best bet is
to look in the yellow pages under Restaurant Supplies/ers. Some
caution here for you---most of their business is structured around
commercial accounts. Some good bargains to be had, some not-so-
good. Depending on the particular outlet, there may or may not be
prices posted for any of the items on the shelves---you have to
ask them to look it up for you.

    Good luck

Does woosta qualify as western MA? I guess it must -- yesterday on the
radio, I heard about how residents in western MA were upset about a
proposed dump site near the towns of Douglas and Webster. Funny, I
always used to think of western MA as the area around Pittsfield, Great
Barrington, etc. But then I always think of Westchester county as being
"upstate NY", so what do I know?

Anyway, if you're interested in professional utensils in Pittsfield,
I'm sure you can find a supplier in that city in the Yellow Pages, and,
failing that, I know that Albany, NY, will have some (and certainly
Troy, if Albany is too far).

Worcester is as "kneer" Boston as it is to Springfield.

Interesting that this topic should spring up in the COOKS notesfile.

But...hailing from Monterey, I figure I'm entitled to fire a salvo at this
urban based negligent geographical mis-perception. Worcester & Springfield
are considered "Western Mass" by those whose perspective is limited to
the range of Boston TV, when in actuality there is still over 1.5 hours
drive west from Springfield before you hit another state.

In PIKE speak thats exit 5 to exit 1.

It's in Western Mass, just beyond the Connecticut, Sandusky,
    Mississippi, Missouri, and Colorado rivers...

    Just beyond the Great Divide...

And it has never taken me 1.5 hours to get from Springfield to the
next state, except on a bike.

And even that is kind of humorous. I don't know if you've ever been
to Houston, Texas, but you can drive for 1.5 hours on the interstate
and STILL BE IN HOUSTON! And, unlike Boston, you won't be driving in
    circles either.

Sure, it's where the Monterey General Store is located!

Big, shmig! Size has nothing to do with it. I once drove for over 1.5 hours
and was still in the Callahan Tunnel. And I've got the dead brain cells to
prove it!

RE: .9

Ayup--I once owned a car like that. Got a ticket for driving below the minimum
speed limit on the Maine Turnpike.

Waitaminit! If you drive at Texas speeds, you're out of the state in
1.5 hours, if you drive at Yankee speeds, you're still in Houston.

NOW! you tell me...?? Where were you six years ago.

Actually the 2nd time by the dome tipped my off...I was going
on incomplete directions off a napkin, and no map. One of those
times where you say to yourself "...well I'll just have faith in
someone else's directions just this once."

I noticed some emoticons which are new for me. Could you interpret
    them?
    		::^)        :^o      :^
I collect these signs. Do you know of other signs or of a source on
    line?
Certainly, this reply does not have anything to do with the purpose of
this file but I'm pressing my luck.
             Thank you,
