<<< PAGODA::DUB19:[NOTES$LIBRARY]COOKS.NOTE;5 >>> -< How to Make them Goodies >- ================================================================================ Note 3181.0 bath buns & escalloped apples 2 replies HYEND::FTSEC 10 lines 13-AUG-1991 16:47 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Help, I'm looking for a recipe for Bath Buns and Escalloped Apples. Bath Buns are an English roll with dried fruit, I think it is a yeast dough, but I'm not sure. My grandmother used to make them. Escalloped Apples you can buy in Stouffer's frozen section sometimes. I haven't seen them up here very often, and they are very expensive. I'd prefer to make my own so there's enough for everyone without a fight to the death.

Hi, I have no idea what Stouffer's puts in their Escalloped apples, but here's a simple apple side dish from my mother's midwestern kitchen. It's great with fall foods like butternut squash, turkey, etc. Slice apples. Saute them in butter, turning them when delicate brown. When they are soft, sprinkle on some brown sugar. Let it melt into the butter, cook a little bit more, then serve. This takes no more than 5 minutes. You can add some chopped walnuts or pecans when you begin sauting the apples. Dori have browned |
