3666.0. "PARTY: Tailgating Suggestions" by USPMLO::NOLAN () Tue Oct 27 1992 10:16

    Tail Gate Party

Does anyone have any good ideas for a menu for a tailgate party ?

So far we have Chili, Sausage, Peppers and Onions in rolls, breakfast
foods. I was thinking along the lines of something to fill up college
    students............without alot of fuss.

I don't know exactly what would constitute "fuss", but I went to a
Patriots game a few weeks ago and we did some tailgating:

Chicken that had been marinated in bbq sauce, on the grill.
Steak tips marinated in ... something, on the grill.
    Chips, veggies and dips.
Bugles (those horn shaped munchie crunchy things)
    Rolls (for the chicken)

    Beer, soda, and water.

It was a great time. (There were about 50 of us).
One of the guys owns Rick's Cafe in Maine and he brought his guitar and
amp and played until the Staties made us leave.

Oh yeh, I forgot: just put the chicken and tips in zip-lock bags, then
you can trash everything at the end of the day - no need to worry about
bringing home dirty things (except for the utensils you used on the
    grill).

When we go with my in-laws to Clemson games (SC) they usually bring
Ham Biscuts ham on dinner biscuts you by in the pan with a spread made
of cream cheese (1pack) enough mayo to moisten, chopped green onion,
and some garlic powder. I don't have the exact measurements, but I
have made these by guessing and came out great. Heat them before you
leave and wrap them in foil. These were a big hit with everyone.

Other things they bring are fried chicken, brownies, raw veggies w/dip,
    baked beans, potatoe salad.
