| | Instant pudding mix? My assumption is yes, since there is no cooking
    involved, but want to be sure. Sounds delicious! Incidentally, if
    anyone is interested in making it low-fat, I use Dream-Whip with skim
    milk whenever a recipe calls for cool-whip or whipped cream. Same
    consistency, lower calories.

| 3597.4 | low call too | LEDS::SIMARD | just in time..... | Wed Aug 12 1992 11:03 | 12 |
| | answer to -1 is either instant or cook type.

    A note:

    Low cal can be sugar free Jello pudding mix, no sugar
    pineapple and Lite Cool Whip. You can hardly tell the difference in
    tast.

    I made it again last night, looks like I have another binge food.

|  |     Sounds wonderful!!

    Did you use a large can of pineapple or the smaller 6-7 oz. can?

    Thanks. I can't wait to try it!

| | If you really want to make it lo cal and lo fat, substitute
2 cups of plain yogurt and use diet instant pudding mix.
The yogurt gives it a little different
taste but it's still very good. I used to make it all the
time when I was in Diet Workshop (one cup counts as 1 fruit,
and 1 dairy).

| 3597.8 | and a little dab of Rum! | LANDO::EBENS | Mary Jean Ebens - BXB2-2/G06 | Tue Aug 25 1992 07:49 | 7 |
| | Tried this the other night -- very nice -- my diabetic son enjoyed the
    lo-cal, no sugar treat.

    Add 1 Tablespoon of Rum to mask the "mix" taste. This is a good trick
    for a lot of mixes.

    thanks, mj

| | Just two days ago a friend made a dessert so similar - pinapple, cool
    whip and lemon jello (not pudding). She also said that making the
    dessert with strawberries, red jello and cool whip was good, too.
