3513.0. "Party Mix" by MILPND::BENHAM () Thu Apr 16 1992 07:03

I know there is a party mix recipe on the side of the Chex
boxes, but I was wondering if any one had a different recipe
    for a party mix.

    Thanks

This is a good crunchy munchy.

    Mix together:
popped popcorn (preferably hot air popped)
    1 bag cheddar goldfish
    unsalted pretzels
    unsalted peanuts
    2 different CHEX cereals

There is enough salt in the goldfish to salt up the whole mix.
You could always put a scoopful (1 - 1 1/2 cups) in a sandwich bag
and zip it or twist it with a pretty ribbon for each child.

A friend of mine made a mix almost exactly the same as
.1 but she also added M&M's. It was excellent!

	Kellogg's Original Crispix Mix

	7 cups Kellogg's CRISPIX cereal
	1 cup salted mixed nuts
	1 cup pretzels
	3 tbls margarine, melted
	1/4 tsp garlic salt
	1/4 tsp onion salt
	2 tsp lemon juice
	4 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1. Combine cereal, nuts, and pretzels in a 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Set aside.

2. Stir together remaining ingredients. Tossing gently, coat cereal evenly with
   margarine mixture.

3. Bake at 250 degrees F. about 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on
paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.

Yield: 9 cups

I've made this several times. I cut down on the cereal by about half, use
whatever nuts I have available and substitute Mrs. Dash seasoning for the garlic
and onion salt. It's very good.
