This one is definitely a little rowdier than "After Dinner Liquors",
    but here goes -

Snowshoes - mix peppermint schnapps and Wild Turkey whiskey half
and half (or maybe a little less schnapps and more WT) and keep
in a jar in the freezer. These are done as shots or shooters,
rather than sippers - after the first one you'll understand the
reason for the name! Actually, they are much better than they
sound, and are really handy to keep in the freezer with a supply
of bathroom-sized Dixie cups. A little more festive than beer
if old friends are in town and stop by, or if you want to celebrate
something special (getting home from work Friday at 5:30!).

We made some for our wedding recently - for everyone to toast
with when cutting the cake & had put the bottle in a larger plastic
jug & filled the space with silk flowers and water. When frozen
and the plastic taken off, the bottle had an inch thick layer
of ice with flowers frozen in around it - very pretty.

Amaretto puff, is THAT what it was called. Someone bought me one
of these once, didn't tell me what it was and just handed it to
me and said 'drink this'. I 'd had enough drinks already and so
I tried it. Most of the drink ended up on the bar and the guy who'd
given it to me. Never give someone one of these without warning
them. I was so startled at all this fuzz suddenly in my mouth I
    immediately spit it out.

I'm very glad I was too drunk to be very embarressed then or I would
have been under the table. Now it's just funny.

There's a similar drink called "the tequilla snapper" which is made by
putting a shot of tequilla into a glass and then filling to the half-way
mark with champange. Again, you bang it on the table, and swallow the
fizz.

Amazing, I was introduced to them as "Alabama Slammers", I assumed
since you slammmed them on the table. Same thing though, Tequila
    and Squirt or 7up.

Or "Rum slammers" (something descriptive like that:
Rum most of the way to the top of a shot glass, covered with a layer
    of Coke, and slammed.
327.10Scorpion Bowl recipe?DANGER::ASKETHFri Mar 10 1995 09:519
Can anyone provide a recipe for Scorpion Bowls? (Or a pointer - I've done some
searching in here but haven't found anything yet.) MY roommate used to make
them in college (way back when!) but I can't remember all the ingredients. I
do remember rum, OJ and grenadine I believe, but there's more to it than that.

I need this ASAP.

Thanks,
B

SET NOTE/CONFERENCE=NODE::FILE if you're using the VT (character cell terminal)
interface.
