| I haven't done this in years, and since the recipe is in one of my
mother's cookbooks, I can't really post it, but...
As a teenager I used to make a Candy Cane Cake. As I remember it, it
was a white cake with finely ground candy cane added to the batter.
It was a "from scratch" cake, but I don't remember if it had less sugar
or not. The frosting was a white fluffy frosting. I remember adding
and whipping egg whites. After the cake was frosted I would sprinkle
coarsely ground candy cane on top for decoration.

| I just read a recipe for candy cane cookies. You use crushed candy
canes and peppermint extract. I no longer have the recipe, but you
might try starting with a basic butter drop cookie... Good luck!

| Make cakey brownies (as opposed to fudgy brownies) and ice them with
the standard conf. sugar/butter/milk icing. Top with crushed candy
canes.
