420.1Just a suggestion...USMRW2::JTRAVERSJeanne TraversWed Aug 05 1987 15:5813
    I've served fresh fruit as dessert (rather than an appetizer) with
    a bowl of whipped cream laced with vanilla - or a favorite liquour
    along side a bowl of hot chocolate sauce. I serve the cut up fruit
    with fondue forks. This always goes over quite well - people who
    are too full for dessert usually pick at the fruit without sauces
    and those that hve a sweet tooth can dip to their taste buds content.

    For an appetiser, chocolate might be too heavy. In this case I'd
    suggest using a bowl of fruity yogurt?

    I tried a new fruit dip the other day that's easy and tastes good.

    Mix 1 container of yougurt (your choice of flavor) with 1/2 cup
    of softened Cool Whip or it's equivalent. That's it!

420.5(CREANCICLE DIP )ARMORY::MCKAYJThu Aug 20 1987 13:3324
    I found this in a cook book called Piggin - Out

           1 pkg Instant vanilla pudding mix
           1 can frozen orange juice (6 oz.)
           1/2 cup milk
           1/4 cup sour cream

    Mix the first 3 ingred. in a bowl or blender for two min.
    Then mix in the sour cream.

    This taste just like the Creamcicle you used to get at the store
    when I was a kid.

    I have used this with apple slices, strawberries, plum slices,
    pineapple slices, grapes, banana slices, and kiwi fruit with
    very excellant results.

    You could also use this as a topping instead of whip cream on
    Strawberry shortcake.

    enjoy :*)

    My favorite fruit dip is very easy:

    		1 8 oz. package cream cheese softened
    		1 small jar of Marshmallow Fluff or Marshmallow Cream

    Mix together , and enjoy.

    It's always a hit a parties. It taste the best with fresh
    strawberries. I also use grapes and canned pineapple.

420.9FRUIT DIPWAGON::KRUEGERThu Jan 31 1991 15:1514
    This is the best fruit dip I have ever tasted (next to the one served
    to met at the Pueblo Room at the Contemporary Resort in Disney World)
    and it's so versatile. You're not going to want to ever eat fruit
    without it.

    Mix one bar Philly cream cheese (8 oz.) with one medium-sized jar of
    marshmallow fluff (7-3/4 oz. size) and add up to 1/4 or 1/3 c. of your
    favorite liqueur. I've tried it with Galiano, Kahlua, Midori,
    Banana-flavored liqueur, Amaretto (my fave), and even creme-de-menthe.
    I hate marshmallow fluff so I was glad I didn't know what was in it
    when I first tasted it, but now I'm a believer. Everyone I've served
    this to has raved. Just cut up a bunch of fruit and take a toothpick
    and dig in!

In addition to note 675.11, I add about 1/4 c. of your favorite, expensive
liqueur such as Kahlua, Midori, Bailey's, Galliano, or (my fave) Amaretto.
If you enjoy mint, try creme-de-menthe. Peach schnapps is delicious, too.
It really adds alot to the dip and I've never met anyone who didn't love
this concoction.
