I did a dir/title=belguim and came up empty handed. I would like to cook a Belguim dinner for my parents. Does anyone have any recipes for soup, appetizer, main course, and dessert that's from Belguim? Also, what type of wine should I serve with it? Diane

I don't know if it will help, but you can try BELGIAN or BELGIUM instead of BELGUIM.

Start your Belgian meal off with Moule Fraise, a kind of mussels stew with redwine, tomatoes and garlic. It is a very popular starter course in Brussels. Main course could be Carbonara of Beef, a nice thick chunky piece of good beef, smothered in a rich sauce, not a gravy, made from reduced beef stock and mushrooms, and served with boiled potatoes.(served to my wife and I at the Armes d'Bruxelle, in Brussels) Nice belgian red wine to go with it. Serve a light green salad, with a vinaigrette, and finish the meal with a piece of pastry filled with ice cream, and covered with chocolate sauce.(I can't remember the name of the dessert, but it was delicious. tk

The dessert you are referring to is probably Profiterolles (sp?)

re .2- Thanks for some ideas. I don't like mussels, so that dish is out. But the beef sounds good. Diane |
