3231.0. "WOK: Take a WOK on the wild side!" by CERN::GEER () Fri Sep 20 1991 10:12

I am a new member of this conference and am astounded by the number of recipes
and ideas that have been contributed. Very tasty reading. I make a point to
never glance through the notes BEFORE lunch or food shopping!

I am looking for some new ideas for WOK cooking. I found only one note from
1984 on the subject, and this primarily discussed the pros and cons of regular
and electric WOKS. All suggestions will be most welcome!

    Hi, I did a DIR/TITLE=Stir and came up with the following files:

    22, 223, 553, 933, 936, 2333, 3187 & 3209

    You could also search FRY but you would have to wade through all types
    of frying.

    I had a Chinese brother-ini-law who said you could use a frypan the
    same as a WOK so try some of the things you normally use a skillet for.

    Recently I have found that useing olive oil in my cast iron skillets
    has really been good for them. They are supposed to have a sheen to
    them which means things won't stick. The Frug is right when he says
    "HOT pan, cold oil, and foods won't stick"

Many thanks, Kris. I also tried several DIR/TITLE=Keyword but didn't think to
use STIR! Your brother-in-law is right. I have often use it instead of a
frying pan and usually with better results.
