3182.0. "JUICING" by SYSTMX::NIKKI () Wed Aug 14 1991 08:44

Does anyone know if there is a book written or information Juicing? Heard
there is a a person who goes around giving lectures on how combinations of
fruits and vegetable juices will give your body more vitamins then eating
the food itself. Something about how you have to eat 1 lb of cabbage to
get your daily requirements but if you juiced it it would be 1 cup and that
would satisfy your body needs.. Any information on this would be appreciated

Yes the famous "jUiCe MaN" was here in ABO not to long ago. His
machine separates the fiber from the juice and only the juice comes
out. He combines several vegetables to make a sort of V8 type drink,
for instance he juices a carrot then adds a bit of parsley and then
drinks the concoction. He does this many other ways too. He grinds
skins and all and says that a lot of the beneficial "stuff" is in
the rinds or skins of the fruit or vegetable you are juicing.

He claims this saved his life years and years ago when he was diagnosed
with a terminal illness(didn't say what it was). He played in the
Rose Bowl a long time ago. He is now in his 60's and is married
to a woman 30 years younger than himself. He robbed the cradle so
to speak. He has two small children and makes them drink the juices.
They drink no softdrinks and hardly drink any milk saying that you
can get calcium from plants. He backs this up by asking people in
the audience "Where do you think a cow gets her milk from?" The
answer of course is vegetation. He makes a good point.

He did a segment on one of the local radio stations in the
Boston area (WVBF) about a year ago. Many things that he
mentioned during his talk made sense. Apparently, he
travels across the country advertising this machine and
showing everyone how they can live healthier by using
his method of food preparation. I don't know whether
it works, but it may be worth a try.

BTW, he was diagnosed in the late 60's as having stomach
cancer, and he is married to a former Playboy bunnie.
**Please folks, no hate mail. I'm only repeating what
    he said during his show.

He now has one of those 30 minute commercials on the tube advertising
his contraption(juicer) and he demonstrates how it is used and explains
with great enthusiasm the merits of what drinking different juices
can do for you and your health. Its on late at night and on Saturdays.

3182.5HOW MUCH JUICE/HOW MUCH WASTE?HAMSTR::UPSONThu Aug 22 1991 16:045
I'm curious about how much waste this jucier kicks out. If I jucied
one lb. of carrotts, how much of that lb. would be juice and how much
    waste would I throw away???

Also, does anyone know how much this jucier goes for???

alot of stuff to USE...never throw it away when you can make the very best
compost in the world from it...it is also a good additive to breads - with
the juice gone, it is simply natural celulose - great fiber source.

3182.7Is there any difference ?FRAGLE::GUTIERREZWho's on 1st.. What's on 2nd..Fri Aug 23 1991 08:435

Does anyone know if there is any difference between the Juicemaker
that the Juiceman sells and any other regular Juicer machine ?.
If there isn't any, then why buy his Juicemaker machine when any
other regular Juicer will do just as well ?.

What are some different combinations for juices that go together
well. (Such as a vegetable and a fruit...). With the juicer I have, it just
pulverizes all of the fruit to get the juice....No fiber lost....

I suggest you watch the 30 minute commercial that often appears on
Saturdays about this devise. The Juice man will explain.

A regular Juicer does not separate the fiber from the Juice. With
the Juice Man Juicer you only get the juice...pure juice no pulp.
His philosophy is that if you wanted the fiber with the juice then
you might as well just eat the fruit or vegetable with out juicing
it. Just eat it. And he recommends that you do eat fruits vegetables
for the fiber content but also recommends juicing with his juicer
because you juice the WHOLE fruit including the skin and all. He
did this with a pineapple, he just tore off the leaves and then jammed
the pineapple with skin and all into his juicer and out came only the
juice and the pulp shot back into a reservoir of sorts. With carrots
he used the whole carrot including the foliage. He mixes all kinds
of different fruits and vegetables together to make one drink. I am
sure the juicer comes with different concoctions of his that you
can make with the Juicer......buy one!

Do I own one.....Nope. But if your a health nut then I suggest that
    you get one.

My juicer separates the juice from the pulp. I save the pulp and add
it to muffins or toss it in soup or spaghetti sauce.

I mostly make carrot juice. It's so sweet and refreshing and unlike
anything else I eat in a normal day. Other favorites are carrot/apple,
carrot/pear, apple/pear. I've also added celery to these, but on the
order of one stalk to a couple of carrots and an apple. Otherwise the
    flavor is overpowering.
