I've make a chocolate candy using cheerio's. The kids loved it.
I just melted chocolate chips and a little butter in a pan. After it's
melted turn off the heat and mix as much Cheerio's as possible into
the chocolate. I then spooned out teaspoon size clumps onto waxed
paper to harden in the fridge.

| Perhaps not what you are looking for but fun to make/eat just the same:
CEREAL BALLS
6 cups cripsy corn puff cereal
1/2 cup raisins
10 ounce bag spiced gumdrops
1/4 cup butter
10 ounce package marshmallows or 4 cups of mini-marshmallows
In a large bowl, combine cereal, raisins and candies. In a large
saucepan, melt butter and marshamallows over low heat. Pour over
cereal mixture. Stir quickly. With WET hands, quickly shape mixture
into balls and place on waxed paper. Cool. Store in tightly covered
container.
Yields - one dozen

| I would suggest writing to the manufacturer of Cheerios and asking
them. Sounds like one of those recipes from the back of the box.
I remember something like that. It was almost a trail-mix type
dessert.

3158.7 | shredded wheat and pecans | OFOSS1::MICHAUD | Lisa Michaud | Thu Dec 29 1994 08:13 | 8 |
| I just had something similar to .0, and would also like the recipe.
Someone here just brought in a delicious mix that was given to her as a
gift. It's small shredded wheat squares and pecans, with a sweet
glazed coating. Yum!
I'll check the shredded wheat box the next time I'm at the store, but
if anyone should stumble upon the recipe, please post it here.
