Cultural Food History/International Recipe Exchange
Regardless of nationality, we all have one thing in common. Food!
For years now as an avid cook I have come across wonderful combinations
of food from different cultures. This list is going to incorporate two
areas of interest: 1) a bit of history, and 2) recipe exchange.
On the broader perspective, I am very interested in how food is used in
celebrations and/or rites: religious, national holidays, births,
deaths, etc., and what significant role certain foods play into this.
Secondly, I would like to get an exchange going of different recipes
from different parts of the world of specialities of the region and
nationwide.
I have celebrated many such 'feasts' with family and friends in Africa
and found it has sparked an interest in me on why food plays such an
important part in our social/religious rites as a people and individual
family life. So, come and subscribe to this list and enjoy the culinary
adventure and history.
