3072.0. "Tapas" by BRUMMY::IRWIN () Fri Jun 07 1991 09:51

I have done a search and i cannot find any entries for this topic so
    lets start a new one.

Does any one have some Tapas recipies/ideas. For any one who has not
heard of these little delights, they are small snacks served in most
Spanish, true Spanish not the tourist, bars.

They can be of meat, fish, vegetable or a mixture of items all in small
quantities, ie you would need about three of these dishes to fill up a
    person.

I cannot describe the delight of sitting in the sun with an ice cold
glass of beer/wine a piece of crusty bread and several of these dishes to
dip into and just watch the world go by.
With, at least in theory, the summer about to start i thought you may
be able to bring a bit of Spain into my garden.

I have a couple of recipies which i will post shortly, give them a try.

_The Vegetarin Epicure_, Volume 2 by Anna Thomas has several recipes
for tapas. I can enter a couple.

This is a great topic, but unfortunately, no one will be able to find
it doing a DIR/TITLE=TAPA. Could you please change the title of your
basenote to include the word "tapa"

RE: .0

Ideally, the wine should be a quality Fino Sherry, chilled. Walnuts and green
and black olives spring to mind immediately as excellent and unfussy
accompaniments.

A glass of "Fino" and a "pincho de tortilla"...
    There's nothing better!

(tortilla is a chick potato omelet, served everywhere in Spain,
pincho is a wedge of tortilla)

Let's not forget a good serving of "jamon serrano" either!
    (cured ham)

section of his cookbook "Our Immigrant Ancestors".

Lets bring this to life again... anyone with actual receipies? I've
been invited to a pot luck Tapa party and need to bring some.

    Thanks
