| 2993.1 | string bean casserole | MCIS1::MICHAELSON |  | Thu Apr 11 1991 13:18 | 19 |
| | I make this all the time, but I don't measure. I can give the
    ingredients and how I put it together -

    2 cans french style string beans drained
    1 small can mushrooms
    1 can cr of mushroom soup (sometimes I vary and use cr of celery or
    cr or chicken)
    few dashes of soy sauce
    minced onion or a few drops of onion juice
    mix together bake in a casserole - sometimes I use seasoned bread
    crumbs over the top dotted with pcs of butter

    and - sometimes instead of bread crumbs I shred cheddar cheese over
    the top

    Hope this is helpful

| | On the back of Durkees Dried Onion Rings is an OUTSTANDING green bean
    or string bean casserole dish. I make this for pot-lucks and everybody
    loves it!

    Basically, I think it's just green beans, the Durkees dried onions, and
    cream of mushroom soup-- baked! Delicious!

| | I'm wondering if this is what you are thinking of:

    cut and cook greenbeans or wax beans;
    in a small frying pan melt butter, add slivered or sliced almonds,
    brown,
    and pour over cooked beans.
    Serve immediately.

| | Mix French-cut green beans with diluted Campbell's mushroom soup.
    Top with slivered almonds and bake casserole.

    A variation on the casserole topped with B&W fried onions. (guilty
    yummm)
