| Brandied Barbecued Chicken with Sesame Seeds
1 3-3 1/2 lb chicken cut into 8 pcs
1/2 c brandy
1/3 c low sodium soy sauce
2 T sesame seeds toasted
1 T minced ginger
2 garlic cloves minced
Using meat cleaver or heavy knife cut bone end from legs, cut theighs
in half and each beast in half and then 3 pcs.
Blend remaining ingredients in blender or processor. Place chicken in
glass baking dish turning chicken to coat. Refrigerate 1-8 hours
turning occasionally.
Prepare barbecue or preheat broiler. Drain chicken, discard marinade
- cook chicken until browned and juices run clear when pierced with a
knife, turning once. About 25 minutes.

This comes out nicely brown and sticky - very good.

| Here's another - Brown Sesame Chicken
2 lbs. of boneless chicken breast and chicken theighs
Place in a braising liquid made from
4 c water
1/2 c soy sauce
1/3 c sherry
1 t salt
Cook 30 minutes.
Prepare a sauce from
2 T peanut oil
2 T sesame oil
5-6 grn onions chopped
2 garlic cloves minced
Saute the onions and garlic briefly, add the sesame oil, and then
2 T sherry
3 T soy sauce
1/4 t salt
Combine 1/2 c water and 2 T cornstarch add to sauce to thicken.
Place chicken on serving platter - pour sauce over chicken and top with
2 T toasted sesame seeds.

Sesame Chicken
4 Boneless chicken breast cut in 1" chunks
8 T soy sauce
4 t sesame oil
2 T honey
2 T lemon juice
2 T fresh ginger grated
2 grn onions chopped
6 T sesame seeds toasted
Mix half of the soy sauce and sesame oil and pour over chicken and marinade
briefly.
Place chicken on prepared skewers - grill over charcoal 5-10 minutes.
Make a sauce from the remaining soy sauce and sesame oil, honey,
ginger, lemon juice and green onions. When
chicken is done, remove from skewers and pour the sauce over the
cooked chicken - refrigerate 2 hours or over night. Serve cold or
hot. To serve hot reheat in 350 degree oven. Sprinkle with toasted
sesame seeds.

I tried .3's recipe over the weekend. Really good! but not
quite what I had in mind. The Sesame Chicken I had was much
sweeter and stickier.. Very dark and thick. and the chicken
was actually crispy underneath the coating. Perhaps if I try
adding more molasses in .3's recipe that might help.
The taste kind of reminded me of an appetiser I had in a Thai
restaurant in Boston once... it was thin pieces of beef, kind
of chewy, with a sticky sweet coating. Don't think it had
sesame seeds, but that thick sticky sauce was on it.
Anyone else got a clue?

At Thai Orchid in Framingham, the beef dish is called Paradise Beef.
Maybe someone has this recipe...
