Fellow Cooks, This looks like a seemly title for my problem: not too long ago someone entered a (cake?) recipe that was served up in a flower pot. Wouldn't you know it; my neighbor needs the recipe. I have searched high and low and can't find it. Any help will be thoroughly appreciated. Judy

I believe it's something like: oreo cookie crumb crust w/chocolate cake and pudding and more oreo crumbs. My cousin made this for a party, stuck plastic flowers in it and put those (gross) gummy-worms on top. I can't remember if this has cool whip layered into it or not. I'm such a big help, huh? 8-) beth

Dirt Pie -------- 16-20 oz. Oreo cookies, crushed 12 oz. Cool Whip 2 3.5 oz pkgs French vanilla pudding 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1 stick margarine, softened 3.5 cups milk 1 cup confectioner's sugar Mix cream cheese, pudding, margarine with electric mixer. Gradually mix in conf. sugar. Add Cool Whip and milk, mixing until smooth and creamy. Layer with crushed cookies in 8-inch diameter flower pot (or clear glass bowl), starting and ending with cookies. This will typically end up as 3 cookie layers and 2 of cream cheese mixture. Freeze. Remove from freezer 1 hour before serving. For authenticity, stick a silk flower in center and serve the dessert with a trowel. |
