Does anyone have a recipe for gyros? I have eaten these at Greek
restaurants and love that sauce that they serve with it.Would
appreciate any help with this

Ohhh, me too! I've been able to find them lately at alot of pizza
parlors, too. Seems like you could experiment with some good, fresh
pita bread, sliced lamb, onions, and then something to make the sauce.
The sauce seems like something made from yogurt and sour cream perhaps.
Yum!

The white sauce the Greeks put on gyros, is not only for gyros, but it
is used on soublaki, as well as a dip.
It is known best as tzatziki.
The ingredients are:
Drained yogurt (place plain yogurt into a cheese cloth and leave it
overnight.
Crushed fresh garlic (never use garlic powder as a substitute).
Fine shredded cucumber. Remove seeds, shred it, drain excess water.
Mix the above ingredients with some salt to taste. Proportion of the
ingredient can be varied to suit your taste.
A started point would be 2 pounds of yogurt, one cucumber, and four
cloves of garlic.
