| My favorite is just coffee with Tia Maria, but Amaretto, Kahlua,
Sambuca, and many others work well, too. You might add a couple of
"nips" (single shot bottles) to the basket, too!

| Many liquor stores have little recipe books which are complimentary.
I think the Kahula book has a couple of hot coffee drinks.

| For me there's nothing like a good expresso! I also like a capuchino,
and for everyday, plain coffee & milk. Expresso I can have at any time,
anywhere and as many as you want with no problems at all! I just love
it.

| Sprinkle some cinnamon in with the coffee when it's brewing, it gives
the coffee a nice flavor.
Now I have a question. My fiance loves a good french roasted coffee,
and for Christmas I'm buying him a coffee grinder and some different
coffee's. Does anyone have any recommendations for buying the coffee
beans (anyplace in the Nashua area carry a better brand...etc)?

| I had seen a note in the coffee file recommending a new place at the intersection
of 2A and 27, called the DAILY GRIND. It has some wonderful choices. I just
have to drive past there several times a month to go to Parker Street.
However, I live in Brookline and locally the best place I have found in at the
Mall of NH. There is a pushcart vendor there that stocks unusual coffees and
teas. I have been very pleased with the quality of their coffees.

2769.7 | Is Daily Grind in Acton??? | DELNI::S_CLARK | Sandy loc:LKG2-1/AA6 ms:LKG1-2/C13 226-5660 | Tue Dec 04 1990 13:33 | 7 |
| Dana,
2A and 27, is that in Acton. What I'm thinking of is a small shopping
plaza on one corner and gas stations across from it on both 2A and 27
(or am I way off base?)

Coffee Drinks
You will need "thickened" cream for these. Sweeten heavy whipping cream
to taste with superfine or even powdered sugar - I use approx. 2 tablespoons
sugar per cup of cream. Whip cream by hand with a wire whisk
just until well thickened, but not whipped in the traditional
sense. Optionally, you can add 1 teaspoon vanilla (real only) for each 2 cups
of heavy cream.
Mix 6 oz. strong, hot coffee with 1 shot of Kahlua, 1 shot of
well aged dark rum (Meyers or Bacardi Dark) and serve with a generous
dollop of sweetened "thickened" cream on top.
Mix 6 oz. strong, hot coffee with a double shot of Spiced Rum
(sold in bottles with this name). Top with sweetened thickened
cream and dust the top with cinnamon. Add a cinnamon stick to
use as a stir if you desire (and you can find a shallow enough
cup to allow for this).
Mix 6 oz. strong, hot coffee with a double shot of Truffles Liqueur
(this is a chocolate liqueur). Top with thickened cream.
Dust the top with grated bitter-sweet chocolate.
Mix 6 oz. strong, hot coffee with 1 shot of Irish Cream and 1
shot of Irish. Top with thickened cream. (This is lethal and doesn't
taste it - beware!!)
Mix 6 oz. strong, hot coffee with a double shot creme de menthe (white
is preferred). Top with thickened cream and add a peppermint
candy cane as a stir.
Mix 6 oz. strong, black coffee with a shot of fine brandy.
Sweeten to taste with superfine sugar. Add a lemon peel curl
that has been flamed over a match to remove the harsh flavor.
Do not top with cream.
Do not drink these and drive. You may feel alert, but you are still impaired
after comsumption of the alcohol. Contrary to opinion, the alcohol does
not "evaporate".
Have a Happy Holiday!

Sandy,
When I'm coming south on 27, the plaza is on my right...it looks fairly new and
has about 10 - 12 shops in it. Yes, it is Acton.

| I LOVE the coffee from Green Mountain Coffee, headquartered in
Waterbury, Vermont. My hubbie is from Portland, and we go to the Green
Mountain Coffee Shop every time we're up there. The last time we were
there in the Fall, Kip bought me a pound of RAINFOREST NUT coffee. By
far the BEST flavored coffee I have *ever* had! I'm totally hooked
now, and I order by phone.
P.S. A certain percentage of all proceeds for the sale of Rainforest
Nut does get donated by Green Mountain to help save the forests.
Here's some info on Green Mountain Coffee Shop:
