    here is a variation that is great for rice krispie squares, and very 
    easy too!
    
    6 cups rice krispies
    1 cup peaunut butter
    1 cup light Karo syrup
    1 cup sugar
    
    topping:
    
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1 cup butterscotch chips
    
    combine peanut butter, sugar , and Karo syrup in a saucepan over
    medium heat, and bring to a slow boil.  Add rice krispies, and stir
    until well coated.  Press into a buttered 13x9 pan.
    
    for the topping melt the chocolate and butterscotch chips over a 
    double boiler.  
    
    smoothe over rice krispies and refrigerate until the frosting has
    hardened.  Cut into bars and enjoy!!!!  I am asked to make these 
    quite often, everybody loves them!!!

	10 oz. bag of marshmallows
	half stick of butter or margarine
	6 cups of Rice Krispies Cereal
	Melt the Marshmallow and butter on low heat or double boiler
	stirring constantly. 
	When melted blend with Rice Krispies and turn into a
	greased 9x13 pan. Let cool fully before cutting.
	I do mine in the microwave by putting marshmallows and
	butter into a large bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 1 and 1/2
	minutes. Stir the mixture a little and microwave again
	for 1 minute on HIGH. Take out of microwave and add the
	Rice Krispies. Stir together and turn into greased 9x13 pan.
	Let cool fully before cutting.

|  |     wow, mental telepathy. I was just about to look for this recipe and
    decided to read "next unseen" first. Amazing!
    
    Anyway, how do you think these would ship (to Saudi Arabia)? I've been
    sending things like Choc. Chip, Ginger Snap, Oatmeal Raisin, Oatmeal
    Choc. Chip, Pbutter, cookies, but wasn't sure if these'd hold up. Would
    definately be something different, huh? Think they'd melt or get mushy?
    
    Also, if you wanted to add chocolate, would you just throw in choc.
    chips with the butter when melting? Bet you could glaze these with red
    and green glaze for the kids for the holidays, too,.... hmmmm

|  |        There is another version for the rice krispies: Super krispies
    
       1/4 c butter
       10 oz of regular marshmallows 
       6 cups of rice krispies
     
       when everything is mixed together,you can add: Peanut Butter chips,
    or peanuts or Chocolate chips and stir well to mix.Press
    the mixture in a rectangular pan.
    
       Enjoy!

|  |     I'm looking for a recipe involving Rice Krispies.  The recipe used to
    be on the back of the cereal boxes a long time ago, but I can't find it
    anywhere.
    The recipe was for bars which had a layer of chocolate between 2 layers
    of rice krispies stuff.  The Rice Krispies stuff was held together by
    peanut butter combined with melted butterscotch chips.  The chocolate
    layer was melted chocolate chips with some other stuff (maybe
    evaporated milk) mixed in so that, when cooled, the chocolate layer
    wasn't quite as hard as chocolate chips.
    Anybody know of any recipe similar to this?

	I think I know the recipe you're referring to.  I always put the
	chocolate layer on top, tho.
	Peanut Butter Scotcheroo's
	1 C  sugar
	1 C  corn syrup
	1 C  peanut butter
	8 C  Rice Crispies
	6 oz chocolate chips	
	6 oz butterscotch chips
	Combine the sugar and corn syrup in a heavy sauce pan.  Bring to
	a boil.  Stir in the peanut butter until smooth.  Pour mixture over
	the Rice Crispies and mix.  Press into a 13x9 pan.
	Heat the chocolate and butterscotch chips in a double boiler until
	melted, stirring.  Pour over the Rice Crispie mix and spread evenly.

|  |     Check your box of Rice Krispies for an 800 consumer hotline number.
    Then call and ask them for the recipe you want.   If it did in fact
    appear on the Rice Krispies box at some time, they should certainly
    be able to provide you with the recipe.  If the recipe is something
    your mother-in-law created on her own, you're out of luck.
    
    I once needed the recipe for Tiger Bars (made with Kelloggs
    Sugar-Frosted Flakes) and used the above method to get the recipe. 
    The consumer hotline folks were very nice, and of course, had the
    recipe for me instantly.
    
    The Tiger Bars, unfortunately, were disgustingly sugary and practically
    inedible (in my opinion), but that's beside the point, I guess...   ;^)

    		40 marshmallows (large size)
    		1 stick of butter
    			melt together in a saucepan (be careful not to
    			burn)
    		Remove from heat and slowly add
    		6 cups Rice Krispies mixing completely
    
    		Press into a 9x13 inch lightly greased (can use butter)
    		pan and cool.  Cut and serve  
    
    		(Don't forget to splash flour and water on your face
    		so you'll look like it was hard work)
    
    		Add your own extras:  flavored chips, nuts etc.

|  |     Well in the UK you do it like this . . . 
    
    Makes about 20 for polite children, 10 for greedy ones.
    
    1 big bar of chocolate  (8oz)
    2 tablespoons of golden sryup
    2 oz butter 
    1/2 a packet of rice krispies / or cornflakes 
    
    Method
    
    Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie
    Melt the butter and syrup in a large heavy based pan.  
    Add the melted chocolate.  
    Mix together, don't panic if it "freezes" 
    If the mixture becomes unflexiable, add a little milk and keep on
    mixing.
    Add your rice krispies, mix again.
    Divide to lumps and put them into little paper cake cups.
    Put into fridge for 20 minutes.
    
    - You could press the mixture into a flan/cake tin and slice into
    wedges.  We use it as a base for chocolate souffle.

    that's it!  they are called Scotcheroos

|  |     Here's my twist on the Krispies Squares...
    
    Make the usual box recipie for the rice Krispie squares,
    
    6 (generous) cups of cereal
    1 bag of mini marshmallows (the "store" brand is 10-1/2 oz)
    1/2 cup marjorine
    
    melt the marshmallows and marjorine in the microwave, 1-2 minutes, take
    out and whip down, put in for another 1/2 minute until thin.
    
    Put everything in a big bowl and mix,
    
    here's the difference, I have been adding 1/2 or so bag of something called
    	Mayberry's MINI FUN CHIPS, made by Richardson foods in Philadelphia
    These are like mini, rice Krisipe size M&M's in multicolors. I've had
    rave reviews from toddlers, to teens to the adults.  It was "demanded"
    that I make these for an upcoming cookout, in lieu of a salad/side
    dish.
    
    HERE's My Problem...  I had been buying these chips at Park N Shop in
    Auburn and Webster, they no longer carry them, and I haven't seen them
    anyplace else...
    
    I've called the company, they *think* Demoulas markets have bought
    them, but I'm not near one to check.  
    
    Has anyone seen the mini fun chips anywhere else?
    
    I put a half dozen bags in the freezer several months ago, I am down to
    my last half bag!
    
    Please send me mail if you have seen them,usually in the chocolate chip
    or baking section of the store.

|  |     Just as an afterthought,  Spray EVERYTHING that the marshmallow touches
    with PAM, I use a huge stainless steel mixing bowl for the mixing, a
    glass bowl to melt the stuff and a wooden spoon to mix.
    
    Without the pam I would be able to pry the stickie stuff off!

    Graham Cereal?  I've had these things in a pot luck desert situation,
    and I can never seem to find out who makes these things.
    
    It seems to contain the cereral, maybe some marshmallow, possibly some
    chocolate (chips maybe) and not much else.  it is VERY sticky, not
    something good for high humidity days.
    
    Anyone.....???

Alexander's Shop & Save near the Nashua Mall in Nashua carries the Mayberry's
Fun Chips by Richardson's, but I didn't look close enough to see if they had the
mini-chips as well.  I'm sure since they carry the regular size that it would
be no problem for them to get you a case of the mini-chips, just speak to the
grocery manager.  Also, they carry miniature M & M's for baking which might 
work just as well.

    Whilst watching Cybil on Friday she proceeded to have some rice crispy
    cakes.  Now, in England, we make them with chocolate but hers didn't
    seem to have any chocolate in them.  A friend of mine said that they
    may have been made with marshmallow as the Americans make them like
    that.  So, my question is does anyone have this recipe and does anyone
    know what I am talking about.
    
    To expand a little for the people not in the know, these 'cakes' are
    simply rice crispy's and melted chocolate to hold them together.  Kids
    love them over here (as do the adults I might add!).  My neice
    unfortunately though cannot eat chocolate so any recipe without the
    chocolate would be brilliant.
