2533.0. "seasoned salt" by UTROP1::ZWAM_H () Thu Jul 26 1990 05:09

In America you can buy a salt with the name:SEASONED SALT.(I hope the
    spelling is good)
    Here's my question,
I'm living in Holland, city: Utrecht.
Does anybody know if I can buy this SEASONED SALT somewhere in Holland,
Because i've never seen it here before and now we can only ask people
who are going to America, if they can bring it back for us .
    Can anyone help.
    Henk.

For those of you who, like me, are having a difficult time giving up salt
"cold turkey", I'd like to share my recipe. What's really nice about it is
that you can modify the proportions of salt to herbs and spices until you hit
a taste that you like and can live with too. (When I first starting making
this, I used twice as much salt in the mixture as I do now, and I'll probably
decrease the salt still further over time.)

			Seasoned Salt

6 tbsp salt 2 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp thyme, ground 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp marjoram, ground 1/2 tsp onion powder
4-1/2 tsp paprika 1-1/2 tsp celery powder or 1/2 tsp
1 tsp curry powder celery salt

Combine in a blender container and blend on the lowest speed until well
mixed. Yield: about 3/4 cup.
