Does anyone know what URAD flour is? It's an ingredient in some pappadams that we have. pete

Pete, If you talk to your local South East Asian grocery store, they should be able to help. Like the other replies say, it is flour made of ground Urad Dahl lentils. Being made of a pulse, it is high in protein, and (relatively) low in carbohydrate. You use it to make Masala Dosa, which is a form of Indian pancake filled with spicy mashed potato. (Goes down well with a good Pinot Noir!) - Robin. |
