2212.0. "CATERING: Carlisle, Ma" by GVA01::ALBANO (Albert J. Albano, DTN 821-4723) Fri Jan 19 1990 05:15

I am placing my note in this conference because I would rather be
cooking some ethnic delights for a party than hiring someone.
Time and location will not permit this, so hopefully a few of the
residents chefs will have some acquaintances that might be able to
  help me.

My soon to be wife and I are traveling back to New England next
month and are planning a get together with some family and friends
at my brothers home in Carlisle, MA.. I am hoping that someone has
some suggestions on a caterer(or budding chef) who specializes in
interesting hors d'oeuvres and buffet style dishes for 40ish people.

  Thanks in advance,
Al (on temporary assignment in Geneva)

    Al Albano..., that's a name I haven't heard for a LONG time..
How are you doing... you probably don't remember me but.....

Anyway.. to the questions at hand.. I don't know where you want
to go with this but... the MAI KAI (sp?) in Acton on 2A use to do
catering and was very reasonable. Chen's Garden in Marlboro does
catering. AND this may seem like a joke but it's not.., TOBIN does
a WONDERFUL catering job for reasonable prices. YES, I know all
you DECies who have to eat in their Cafe's don't think so, but their
catering staff is quite different from their Cafe-staff. I don't
know what their prices are, but they use to have fliers at the cafes
    around Maynard.

My brother is a chef, but not around that area, so he's out.!

Good Luck.... and Congradulations on your "soon to be" marriage.

This person I highly recommend! He is a chef that is trying
to break out into his own business. Have been to two affairs
(a small wedding and a Christmas Party) and the food was
outstanding! The hors d'oeures are wonderful. All made from
scratch with incredible detail. He even made a coach out of
a cantelope and carved little horses out of the remainder of
the cantelope. But the part that impressed me most was the
enthusiam he had. Total enjoyment out of seeing the final
product and knowing that people were happy with the food. His
wife will even work along with him as a bartender.

Tell your brother Dan that I said Hi.
