I have never heard of a FROOKIE? Could you include the recipe? This
sounds like something I would enjoy making!! Thanks!!
I do know that Angel Food Cake is very low in fat. You could sweeten
it up with jello. Make the jello just like the package says, but use
1/2 the amount of liquid. Poke holes in top of the cake and pour the
jello on it, it will seep into cake. Place in frig and let it
solidify. Arrange cut up fresh fruit on the top. Mmmmmm!
Pita crisps are great!!! Take syrian bread, cut them any way you
prefer. I usually cut them like a pizza. Seperate the halves. Place
them on a cookie sheet and bake in oven for about 6 minutes, until
golden brown. Some people make a seasoned margarine topping, but I
prepare them dry. I've also used bagels. Cutting them across rather
than through the bagel.
Boil macaroni, cool, place on cookie sheet. Sprinkle with whatever
spices you like. I've used garlic powder and tarragon. Try oregano
and basil, or Mrs Dash - whatever. Place in oven ofr approximately
15-20 minutes. They are semi-hard, crunchy and such a good snack. No
fat here.
And I guess you could prepare those normal foods that take a lot of
preperation. Like fruit kabobs. I usually serve this with a yogurt
jello dip. Take plain yogurt and add a package of jello. That's
right, just the sprinkles, no water. It does thicken so don't make it
too early.
good luck!

I try to stay away from sugary foods, too, and have just discovered
two cookbooks for sugar-free goodies. The sweetener comes from
mashed or blended fruit, or fruit juices (no artifical sweeteners).
There are recipes for cookies, muffins, breads, cakes, pies, and
puddings -- with lots of suggestions from substitutions and mix-ins.
I've tried some of the recipes and they're great. The cookbooks are:
"Sweet and Sugar Free" Author of both: Karen Barkie
"Fancy Sweet and Sugar Free"
They're paperback and cost around $7.95-$8.95.
