1877.0. "STRAWBERRY CHEESE SPREAD" by CGVAX2::GALPIN () Mon Jul 17 1989 13:53

         The other day, my mother had bought some strawberry cheese
    spread that was absolutely delicious. I would like to make some
    with the strawberries I picked in June. Does anyone out there know
    how to make this?

Mix cream cheese (you can use whipped cream cheese if you prefer or you
can mix with a little milk or cream to soften it up), sugar to taste, and
some strawberries. You can thin out the cream cheese with strawberry
puree rather than cream or milk also. I also add a teaspoon of vanilla
to "round out" the flavor. Pack into a crock or bowl, cover and let
sit in the fridge for several hours to meld flavor. You don't have to
add anything to make the spread thicken, the cold should do it as long
as you don't add too much liquid....add by drops at a time.

You can use yoghurt cheese for this as well.

corn/bran/blueberry/apple-cinnamon muffins, bagels, toast, english muffins,
fresh apple slices, pound cake, or smear some on strawberries or other
fruit of choice.
