Has anyone heard of or used the "FOOD SAVER" which is a device similar
to but much more elaborate than a Daisy seal a meal. This food
saver used to be advertised on cable tv and is can vacuum seal any
kind of food for long storage times. It also has attachments for
vacuum sealing jars. A local Kitchen store sells the unit which
runs for around $300. Any inputs would be appreciated..
thanks Steve

Hi Steve,
My husband bought this new toy about two months ago. I will admit that
it is a good thing to have around. We do alot of camping and it has
been excellent for freezing and storage of leftovers and specially
prepared meals. You just have to pop the bags in boiling water or clip
a corner of the bag and nuke it. No mess, no trouble. The bags are
expensive; 8" x 25 ft and 10" x 25 ft for $10 and $12. The good thing
is these are reusable. Just wash and reseal. I have found absolutely
nothing wrong with the machine or bags. We just started using jars so
I can't give you any information on those yet. Food does last much
longer in these just as the ads have said.
Hope this helps.
Barbara
