I usually don't do desserts but this is easy and elegant. STRAWBERRIES ROMANOFF 1 Qt. fresh strawberries, whole 3 - 4 Tbls. sugar 1/4 Cup orange juice 1/4 Cup Curacao or other orange liqueur CHANTILLY CREAM 3/4 Cup heavy cream 1 Tbls. sugar 3/4 Tsp. pure vanilla extract Put berries in in glass bowl. Sprinkle with the sugar. Add orange juice and liqueur. Toss lightly, cover and refrigerate 30 min. Spoon the berries into 4 wine glasses or dessert dishes. Whip the heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until stiff. Using a pastry bag and med. star tip pipe enough rosettes to almost cover the berries.

I remember making Strawberries Romanoff back in cooking school some 10 years ago and we used to make it with Strawberries, Strawberry ice cream, kirshe (sp), mix that all together and put fresh whipped cream on top when serving it. But your recipe also sounds good, I can't have any liquire right at the moment but after the baby's born I think I'm going to give this a try. Liz |
