| As kids we used to make a peanut butter/syrup combo for sandwiches. It was
half pancake type syrup and half peanut butter. I imagine you could just add
more syrup to make it more runny...

1734.3 | Friendly's Peanut Sauce | WMOIS::RITCHIE | | Thu Jan 27 1994 11:45 | 8 |
| Actually, the peanut sauce that Friendly's uses is not sweet at all.
You can purchase it at any Friendly's for about $2.65 a pint. We buy
it all the time. It seems that is is made of natural (like) peanut
butter (the kind WITH salt etc.) and added oil to keep it runny. I
have tried the previous recipe. NOTHING like Friendly's. After
various attempts to duplicate this stuff, I decided to spend the $.

I worked at Friendly's a few years back, for extra cash.
The peanutbutter sauce they have there is made specifically
for them by the same people that make Reeces(tm). Is this
the Hershey Co.?

| I believe that Hershey USED to own Friendly Restaurants, but after
several years of losing money/market share, found that producing foods
is a VERY different proposition than running a restaurant chain.
Hershey spun off Friedly Restaurants about a year or a year and a half
ago (not sure whether it was a private placement, or an employee
buy-out, but believe it is now a privately held company).
