1640.0. "Bran Muffins" by GALACH::R_LECOMPTE () Fri Feb 17 1989 13:52

    HELP!!!

I just got married about 4 months ago and my new husband keeps telling
me about these fantastic muffins that his first wife used to make.
All he knows is that they are bran muffins and that the receipe
came off a BLUE box of bran.

Does anyone have any ideas or clues out there?

If not, oh well, he still thinks I do everything else better
    than her! ha.

    Thanks ....Rothel

    Rothel:

I got the brand name wrong...it's Nabisco 100% Bran cereal that
comes in the blue box, not Kellogg's All Bran (I checked it out
in the grocery store today). I hope I didn't lead you in the wrong
    direction!

Anyway, here is a recipe I found in my recipe box, using Nabisco
100% Bran. Maybe this is the one hubby is looking for!

    BRAN MUFFINS
    ------------
1 egg 1 cup sifted flour
1 cup milk 2-1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. vegetable oil 1/2 tsp. salt
1-1/2 cups Nabisco 100% Bran 1/4 cup light brown sugar,
                                              packed

Beat together egg, milk and oil. Stir in bran cereal. Let stand
5 minutes. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; blend in
brown sugar. Add bran mixture, stirring just until combined - don't
overmix. Fill greased muffin pan cups 2/3 full. Bake in preheated
oven (400 degrees) for 15-20 minutes. Makes 1 dozen.
