1624.0. "Cat Biscuits" by CRUISE::NDC () Thu Feb 02 1989 08:02
I saw this in the feline notes file and thought you cooking folks
might get a kick out of it! Especially the ones with cats.

I got this out of an old newsletter from a Shelter in Fitchburg.
I have made this and most kitties love it! In fact, my dogs guarded
the oven door and could barely wait for some treats. They love them
too!
CAT COOKIES!!!!
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 Tbs. wheat germ
1/4 cup soy flour
1/2 cup powdered milk
1 Tbs. catnip
1 Tbs. unsulphered molasses
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
2 Tbs. vegetable oil (or butter or margarine)
Mix dry ingredients together. Add molasses, egg, oil, and milk.
Roll out flat onto oiled cookie sheet and cut into small, cat bite
sized pieces. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 min.
(I have an electric oven and found these treats a bit hard after
baking for 20 minutes. Also, I did not roll the dough out because
of the grainy texture. I just broke off pieces. I got about 12 dozen
of small nugget pieces!)

| Sounds like cookies I used to eat back in the sixties...
With one substitute ingredient...
Instead of:
> 1 Tbs. catnip
We'd use:
1/2 Oz. very finest marijuana
We'd stand in front of the oven, too!

Reminds me of a cookbook I bought after I started having problems
with asthma, "Cooking with Marijuana" - talk about some recipes....
