There have been other notes in here asking about cooking classes, but none covering the New Hampshire area. I'd like to take a series-type class (not a one-class deal), and definitely prefer hands-on to watching the teacher have all the fun. I'm willing to drive a fair distance, but would like to keep it under an hour, so something closer than Boston would be appreciated. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Don't know what style of cooking class you're looking for, but
here's a few places....
Kapers, Amherst
Teachers name is Sara Goldstein or Goldberg. I don't know if
she is still in business and I don't have her phone number.
The classes are held in her kitchen, so class sizes are usually
small. She's "wicked" hyper and lotsa fun.

Joyce Chen's (Amherst Plaza) Rt 101A, Amherst, 880-7777
Bangkok, DW Highway (Rt 3), Merrimack, 883-9666
This is a Thai restaurant. Rumors has it that the
owner does cooking lessons in the restaurant.

Re: -2 or so - We know Sara Ginsberg. She lives in Amherst, NH, right in the village. Her number is 673-4802. Yes, she conducts "series"-type courses; she's also the culinary editor/writer for the Milford Cabinet. She does a radio talk show occasionally. She's VERY serious about cooking. Last week she spent a day with Julia Child. BTW, her husband is a DECie. Art | |||||
