1450.0. "Goat Meat" by VAXRT::SOKARI () Thu Oct 20 1988 13:23

I live in the Worcester area and I've been looking everywhere
(but the right places) for *GOAT* meat. I find it better tasting,
leaner, and less loaded with chemicals? than beef. However, I've
not had success in my search. I generally prefer it fresh, but
I'll settle for frozen. Does anybody know of place(s) in the
Worcester area where I can get some real good *GOAT* meat?

The winter season is upon us and I need my GOAT meat. Somebody
     please help.

       Thanks in advance.

I have 2 on the hoof--need it any fresher than that? You arrange
shipment from Reno and they're yours.

Although I suspect reply .1 was meant partially in jest, your best bet
might be a local slaughter house. Of course this only works if you want an
entire animal as opposed to a particular cut. There are other entries in this
conference about slaughterhouses in the N.E. area and suggestions as to where
to get the live animals. If you go to a butcher shop or even the meat dept of
a large supermarket and are willing to purchase the entire carcass I'm sure
they can get a goat for you.

If there's a West Indian area in Worcester, you may find goat meat there.
Curry goat is a popular West Indian dish.
