Anyone out there in this big world, have a recipe for a Maple Syrup Pie. My husband has this BIG,,,,BIG.... sweet tooth and he is asking me to make a maple syrup pie. I can make just about any pie that there is , put I just don't have a recipe for maple syrup pie. Please help me out. bf

From Eleanor Early's New England Cookbook: Maple Syrup Pie 1 c maple syrup 1 c water 1/4 t salt 1 T butter 2 T cornstarch 1 T cold water 2 eggs, separated 1 T maple syrup Put first four ingredients in a saucepan and heat to boiling point. Mix cornstarch with 1 T cold water and add to egg yolks. Beat well. Add hot syrup gradually to egg mixture and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thick. Cool slightly. pour into cooked pie shell. Beat egg whites stiff. slowly add 1 T syrup. Spoon over pie, forming peaks with back of spoon. Place in 350 degree oven, 12 to 15 mins. until golden brown. serve warm or cool, never hot. | |||||
