1335.1Wilton Cake Decorating BooksH2OSKI::OREARMary S. OrearTue Aug 16 1988 13:417
I know Wilton has them. Look for a Wilton cake decorating book (either in
a book store or party goods store) and in the back they sell all different
cake pans. If you can't find the book, perhaps I can mail you a copy of
the order form along with a picture of the cake I'm referring to.

1335.2Call Party Goods StoresH2OSKI::OREARMary S. OrearTue Aug 16 1988 13:436
Oh yeah, if you don't have time to order one, call around to party goods
stores and ask them if they sell Wilton Cake Pans and if they have a truck
one. Calling should save you some time!

    	My wife has called all over the state to various Party Good
    Stores without success. She has the Wilton book, but it states
    right in the current book that only the Van is offered and that
    has been discontinued.

    	I am located in the Fitchburg/Leominster area, but don't mind
    driving a reasonable distance (50/75 miles) to get what she needs.

    Does this cake school in Hooksett N.H. have a name?

    thanks...

1335.6Build Your Own TruckGLASS::HAIGHTWed Aug 17 1988 11:2010
    You can make a truck from a 9X13 "trailer", an 8X8 "cab", and cupcake
    wheels. You may want to trim the "trailer" and "cab" to be more
    rectangular, perhaps, depending on your preference for proportional
    accuracy. The cupcakes are more uniform if you cut the tops off
    (the part that expands over the edge of the paper) and invert them
    on your display surface (a board or TV tray lid cover with foil
    works great...And extra icing can be used to draw 2-dimensional
    raods, cars, trees, houses, etc. to fill the board with color!)
    Extra cupcakes can be decorated as Stop Signs and served "on the
    side".

    Yup...sounds like the conversation I had with my wife...she has
    the kit that allows different shapes to be baked by using teflon
    filler insers...she's brave enough to bake the cake but absolutely
    discouraged (despite encouragement) on decorating!

    Maybe I'll get my 5 yr old son (who the cake is for) to decorate
    it! He probably will do as good as my wife and together they'll
    have fun doing it...then again, I could always do it, but there's
    no guarantee it won't get eat'n before it's finished!
