1324.0. "peanut butter and chocolate squares." by CURIE::TACTAG () Wed Aug 10 1988 12:58

I have a recipe for all of you, (since I've taken great advantage
of this file). This is especially good if you have young teenagers,
and it is very quick and easy....

     "K Bars"

    1 cup lite corn syrup
    1 cup sugar

Put these in a sauce pan, stir over heat till it boils.

Add 11 and one half ounces of crunchy peanut butter and
1 small box or 4 cups of Special K cereal. Stir and remove from
    heat. Mix well.

Butter 9x13 pan, spread mixture evenly. Top with 12 ounces chocolate
chips. Heat in oven at 200 degrees for 5 minutes. Remove from
oven and spread melted chips to cover top. Let cool. Cut into
    squares while still warm.

I made these at school and they were a big hit!!! Even got me a
proposal. Am planning on sending to a special friend, they travel
    well!!!

    Enjoy,

    Vicki

          (about 2 1/4 cups)
1/3 cup margarine or butter, melted
1 4-serving-size package instant vanilla pudding mix

1 4-ounce package German sweet chocolate, chopped
1 12-ounce containter frozen whipped dessert topping, thawed

Combine cookies and margarine or butter; reserve 1/4 cup for topping,
if desired. Press remaining cookie mixture onto the bottom of a
13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake at 375 for 5 minutes. Cool completely.

Prepare pudding mix according to package directions, except use
only the 1 3/4 cups milk. Immediately stir in peanut butter and
chocolate. Fold in dessert topping. Spread mixture evenly over
cooled crust. Top with reserved cookie mixture. Cover and chill
several hours or overnight. Cut into squares to serve. Makes 15
    servings.

Alternate topping: drizzle with melted chocolate instead of sprinkling
    with cookie crumbs
