| These recipes came from a free phamphlet I picked up in some grocery
store a while back of M&M recipes. There also are some good ones
for bar cookies, and one for a huge cookie made in a pizza pan,
if anyone is interested. The ones below are for the basic chocolate
chip cookie, and a peanut butter variation. Enjoy!
Chewy Chocolate Chippers
------------------------
1 cup butter or margarine 2-1/4 cups flour
1-1/2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar 1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs 1 cup M&M's
1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup nuts
1 tsp. baking soda (chopped)
Beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy; blend in
eggs and vanilla. Gradually add combined flour, baking soda, and
salt; mix well. Stir in M&M's and nuts. Drop dough by heaping
tablespoonfuls (or larger, if you want huge cookies) onto greased
cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Press 2 to 3 additional M&M's
into each cookie, if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 9 to 11
minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheet about 3
minutes; remove cookies to wire rack to cool thoroughly.
Makes about 2 dozen 3-1/2 inch cookies.
Peanut Butter Jumbos
--------------------
1 cup butter or margarine 2 cups flour
1 cup peanut butter 1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup M&M's
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
Beat together butter, peanut butter, and sugars until light and
fluffy; blend in eggs. Gradually add combined flour and soda; mix
well. Stir in M&M's . Drop dough by level 1/4 cup measure onto
greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Press 3 to 4 additional
M&M's into each cookie, if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 14
to 16 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on cookie sheet
about 3 minutes; remove to wire rack to cool thoroughly.
Makes about 2 dozen 4-inch cookies.

| Here's another, slightly different recipe, courtesy of my
mother-in-law.
M&M Cookies
1 cup shortening 2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1 cup brown sugar 1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 tsp salt
2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 cups plain M&Ms
2 eggs
Blend shortening and sugars. Beat in vanilla and eggs. Sift
remaining dry ingredients together; add to sugar and egg
mixture. Mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup M&M's -- reserve remaining
candies for decorating. Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased
cookie sheet. Decorate with remaining M&M's.
Bake at 375 degress for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Makes
about 6 dozen 2 1/2 inch cookies.
NOTE: I just mix all the M&M's into the cookies (as you would do
with chocolate chips).

| Almost the same as the recipe in .5 but it comes from the back of
a bag of Peanut M&M's, uses more M&M, and includes the small cookie
valiation:
Peanut Butter Jumbos
--------------------
1 cup margarine 2 cups flour
1 cup peanut butter 1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup granulated sugar 1 1/2 cup "M&M's" Peanut
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar Chocolate Candies
2 eggs
Beat together butter, peanut butter, and sugars until light and fluffy;
blend in eggs. Gradually add combined flour and soda; mix well. Stir
in M&M's . Drop dough by level 1/4 cup measure onto greased cookie
sheet about 3 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 14 to 16 minutes or
until edges are golden brown. Cool on cookie sheet about 3 minutes;
remove to wire rack to cool thoroughly. Makes about 2 dozen 4-inch
cookies.
Variation: For 2 1/2 inch cookies, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls
onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 11 to 13 minutes, makes
about 4 dozen cookies.
