| re: Note 932.0 by DELNI::MANGAN, request for puff pastry recipes
My husband uses it to make fruit turnovers, similar to the pepperidge farm
ones but with more fruit and almost no sugar. Just take one sheet (thawed),
rolll it out a little, cut into 4 pieces (should be almost square). Cut up an
apple or two into the center of the four pieces, sprinkle with cinnamon and
brown sugar, fold into triangles and bake. Makes 4 delicious turnovers. This
can be done right before dinner is ready, then bake during dinner. It makes a
quick and elegant dessert.
I have also seen a recipe for baked brie with puff pastry. I think it was a
baby brie, rind removed, wrapped in a sheet of puff pastr and baked. Use your
imagination and if anything comes out very weel, post the recipe here.
One caution - puff pastry has a large percentage of fat, so if you worry about
those things, don't use it indiscriminately.
