			Mom's Autumn Apple Squares
			--------------------------
                      (Pre-heat oven @ 375 degrees)

         Batter Apple Filling
         ------ -------------
1 cup butter, softened 2/3 cup light brown sugar
2 cup sugar 2 tsp. cinnamon
4 eggs 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 Tbsp. light cream
1/2 tsp. almond extract 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
3 cup flour 3 Tbsp. Cornstarch

                                                   8-10 Good size Mac. Apples
                                                        (Peeled and sliced)

Directions: Put together apple filling, and set aside.
Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at
a time. Add extracts. Add flour one cup
at a time. Beat mixture for 2 minutes.
spread 2/3rds to 3/4ths of batter on a
greased and floured 10" x 15" (jelly roll)
pan. Spread apple filling evenly over
batter. Drop remaining batter by teaspoonful
atop this. (*) Bake for 30 minutes.
Let cool a bit. Serve warm, with fresh
                      whipped cream.

                      * Batter is very thick! You will not be able
to really spread the batter on top, however,
once in the oven, the batter will melt and
                      spread around itself.

Freezing: This cake freezes well. Thaw for 1 hour.
Then warm for 5 minutes at 350 degrees.
