I have a recipe for a drink we call ORANGE JULIUS that is a little
different from the one in the malls, but it is delicious!

    1-6 oz frozen orange juice
    1 cup milk
    1 cup water
1/4 cup sugar (or less, to taste)
    1 tsp vanilla
    Ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in your blender and blend until foamy and
the ice is crushed. I use about 7 regular size ice cubes, my mom
uses about 10 of the ice maker cubes (small size). Drink immediately.
Everyone who has ever had this LOVES it!! Great for breakfast.

I found these in the local paper:

    IMITATION ORANGE JULIUS - I

    1 C. Orang Juice
    1/2 C. non-fat dried milk
2 T. sugar (or more to taste)
    1 egg
    A few drops of vanilla
    6 to 8 ice cubes

    Mix well in a blender.

    IMITATION ORANGE JULIUS - II

    1/2 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
    1 egg white
    1 T. lemon juice
    3 C. orange juice
    8 to 10 ice cubes

    Mix well in a blender.

    IMITATION ORANGE JULIUS - III

1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice
    1 C. water
    1 C. milk
1/4 C. sugar (or more to taste)
    1 t. vanilla
    10 to 12 ice cubes

Mix water, milk, sugar and vanilla into frozen orange juice to
prevent curdling. Do not allow to stand. Mix well in a blender
    with ice cubes.

    IMITATION ORANGE JULIUS - IV

    1 qt. orange juice
1 box vanilla pudding mix (not instant)
1 envelope dry whipped topping mix

Mix ingredients together and process in a blender for 15 seconds.

I haven't personally tried any of these, but thought possibly one
    of them would come close.

I just got this book called "Top Secret Recipes" which contains kitchen clones
of America's favorite brand-name foods. Here is the recipe they have for
Orange Julius:

			Orange Julius

1 cup orange juice 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup water 1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs 1 heaping cup ice

Combine all of the ingredients in a blender set on high speed for exactly
1 minutes.

Makes 2 drinks.

I always feel sick after I have one of these, could never figure it
out. It upsets my system no matter what 'flavor' I get, so I gave up
on having them. Maybe it's the raw eggs... [since MASSIVE amounts
of sugar never bother me :-)]

I have difficulty believing that Orange Julius uses raw eggs in their
drinks mostly due to the high risk of salmonella these days. Most
businesses have discontinued the use of raw eggs and have modified
their techniques to avoid using raw eggs. Note .3 said that the
recipe came from something called Kitchen clones, I think clone is
the disclaimer in this phrase. It should not be construed as the
_actual_ recipe that Orange Julius uses. Kind of like all of the
clone recipes for KFC. I haven't tried one yet that actually tasted
    exactly like the real thing.

At the Orange Julius around here, their base recipe does not contain
an egg. Although they do give you the option of adding a raw egg in
the blender if you want. The cost for the egg is even on the menu.
