621.0. "Lamb Chops Rosemary" by DORIS::NIXON () Wed May 13 1987 05:52

    I have another Lamb recipe to add to this notes file. I cook this
    dish rather a lot as it is simple, quick, and delicious. Great
    for us working wives.

                 Lamb Chops Rosemary

       Ingredients: 4 Lamb Chump Chops, or Lamb Leg Steaks
                       1 qtr teaspoon dried rosemary
                       1 qtr teaspoon dried ginger
                       1 teaspoon soy sauce
                       1 clove garlic, crushed
                       1 tablespoon French Mustard
                       2 tablespoons white wine
                       2 tablespoons cider vinegar
                       salt and freshly ground black pepper
                       4 tablespoons water
                       1 teaspoon brown sugar
                       2 teaspoons cornflower
                       2 tablespoons cream (optional)

    Mix rosemary, ginger, soy sauce, garlic, french mustard, wine, vinegar
    salt and pepper together; pour over lamb and marinate for several
    hours. After marinated, grill lamb for a couple of minutes to brown.
    Add water to marinate mixture and place lamb in casserole - cook
    for 35 minutes in moderate oven (Gas mark 5). Remove from oven
    and add cornflower to thicken sauce, sprinkle lamb with brown sugar
    and place back in oven for further 5 minutes, uncovered. Add cream
    at this stage if you require.

    Delicious served with jacket potatoes and sweetcorn.

621.1Gas Mark 5 ???GSRC::PURYEARSun Dec 10 1989 02:548
    For us yanks in the Colonies, please provide the equivalent of gas mark
    5 in degrees. We live in Colorado Springs, Colorado;USA and lamb is
    raised here locally, but it is not cheap, therefore it is a luxury item
    on the table. Recipies for lamb are not common-place for me.
    Therefore, I want a recipe to make the best of little lamb I can
    afford. Everything looked good until I read gas mark 5.
