Ah! A gourmand of refined taste!

Yes, was a little bit of April humor. Kind of like the weather,
    lately.

572.3SAUSAGE/POTATOE DISHUSOPS::DOHERTYSun Sep 12 1993 18:3010

Put a little bit of olive oil on the bottom of a casserole pan. Cut
sausages into 3 or 4 pieces, cut 1 large onion and 1 large pepper into
big chunks, peel a few potatoes and cut them into small pieces. Mix
all this together in casserole pan bake for 1 hour at 350, stirring
every 15 minutes. Quick and easy dinner. Make sure potatoes aren't
too small or they will be mush. I use sweet italian sausage. I
usually top with black pepper and garlic powder also. Easy on the
olive oil or it will be too greasy.

I make something like that, but add onions and *cheese*. (Cheese makes
    the world go 'round.)

    RE: .3

My mom used to make that (minus the onion and on the stove top) when
I was growing up...called it simply "sausages, peppers, and potatoes."
I used to cry on those nights! I'm still not a big fan of sausages or
    peppers.

Ooooh...Once a week (at least) in my house too...One of several
torture-dishes my mother would prepare (although now that it's been
years, it doesn't sound too bad!).

HA! I mentioned to my mom the other day that I *hated* when she made
sausages, peppers, and potatoes, and *she* fessed up that *she* hated
it too! She only made it 'cos my dad likes it!

    Now that's love.

...if it's the thing that my mum-in-law-nearly makes sometimes. I make
an adulterated version of it, using red and green capsicums, onions,
the occasional eggplant, and potato if I remember, in LOTS of olive
oil, and powdered chilli (fianc is a chilli head), and Italian herbs,
and when it's all sort of nicely fried up, I stir a Tbs or so of
tomato paste into the oil. It's wonderful to sop up the oil-tomato
with Italian bread!

Anyone noticed that I'm not watching my cholesterol? :-)
