408.2 | more info about Jessica's Biscuit | TIGEMS::RYDER | Al Ryder, aquatic sanitary engineer | Wed Jan 13 1988 18:16 | 19 |
| This is really a response to the question of 918.4 about Jessica's
Biscuit.
Jessica's Biscuit is a telephone/mail order retail bookseller
specializing in cookbooks. It is a division of the New England
Mobile Book Fair, a large bookstore in Newton, Mass. that I think
normally sells to schools and libraries and sells at discount to
the walk-in trade. I knew of Jessica's, but I had held off with
my order because of their prices. A librarian had told me of NEMBF
and of the better prices. When I tracked down and called the 800
number of NEMBF, Jessica's answered! In a few days I will receive
my order from Jessica's at Jessica's prices. Oh, well. At least
they had a book my usual seller could not get for me.
p.s. Near MKO, the Royal Discount Bookstore has a good cookbook
section at very good prices. They will special order from their
two distributors at 15% off list; however, not all books are available
from those distributors. Anyone know where I can buy Dolores Casella,
The New Book of Breads, ISBN 0-87250-032-2, pub by David White in 1979?

| And for the Massachusetts people who come to MKO on occasion,
At the Merrimack toll plaza exit and turn East, not West.
About two hundred yards turn North at the light on route 3.
About half a mile North on the left at the first light.

408.7 | caffeine coffee mug? | TLE::EIKENBERRY | A Flounder in a Cloud | Mon May 04 1992 14:33 | 9 |
| A few months ago, I received a catalog that was selling a coffee mug
with the molecular structure of caffeine on the front of the mug. I
don't remember which catalog it was in...does anyone know which
catalog I can find it in, or where I could buy it?
Thanks!

typically in one of those outlet shopping malls. What area are you
interested in?

| Got the Corningware outlet number off line -- it's 603 356-3119.
They tried to be helpful, and I could have gotten the cover mailed to
me...except that the factory had had a flood about 10 years ago and the
mold had been lost.
Sigh, I guess that at least proves that the stuff does last!

408.16 | catalog of free stuff | KAOFS::M_FETT | alias Mrs.Barney | Mon Nov 30 1992 08:21 | 26 |
| I have been getting into a number of very particular catalogs lately,
thanks to those catalogs you can order catalogs out of. One catalog I
thought EVERYONE would enjoy/find-useful is a small newsprint type
circular that is an amalgamation of where to find and send off for
FREE stuff (catalogs, recipes, coupon, samples). Some industrious
person is running an information business and seems to have done a very
thorough job!
The catalog (circular) is called:
NATIONAL DIRECTORY OF FREE AND INEXPENSIVE COOK BOOKS AND FREE THINGS
FOR YOUR KITCHEN
They also include information on how to get government fliers on
FDA regulations (additives, etc) as well as a number of supply
catalogs.
Inquiries::
Mark Weiss, Author
P.O. Box 402091, Miami Beach,
Florida 33140
Since most of these addresses for free stuff listed is American, this
flier will be of much more help to the majority of you than for me. 8-)

a flyer.

| Does anybody know if KitchenAid does any mail order business, or if
they have a catalog? I'm looking for some listing of the add-on
pieces that might be available for my wife's table top mixer. Does
anybody have an address or phone number handy?
Just wondering,

I just bought a 5 Qt. KitchenAid last month. I'll bring in the
paperwork and jot down the particulars, as I am going to buy some
of the accessories as well. Pricing including shipping and
handeling (I believe) was listed.
I was wondering if there are any places in the Atlanta area that
would sell the accessories? I think someone mentioned Harry's
Farmers Market as one place to check?
About the only thing I can think of adding would be the meat
grinder attachment. I have the shredder/slicer attachment, dough
hooks, whip, paddle.

| Just came back from Harry's Market. They carry most of the options for
KitchenAid. The copper bowl for the 4.5 Qt. was either $35.00 or
$39.00.

408.23 | Zabar's, NYC, NY | RANGER::KENNEDY | Steve Kennedy | Wed Dec 15 1993 17:59 | 27 |
| I've never had the opportunity to visit the store in NYC (yet), but
I've purchased a number of things mail order from Zabar's and generally
they've almost always had the lowest prices when I've taken the time to
compare.
ZABAR's
2245 Broadway
New York, NY 10024
212-787-2000
MAIL Orders: taken M-F 9am-4pm
Phone: 212-496-1234
Fax: 212-580-4477
Their inventory is supposed to be *HUGE* and many items aren't listed
in their catalog, so if you get the catalog and don't see something
you're interested in, call them and ask about it -- they'll most likely
carry it.
\steve
ps. Zabar's carries KitchenAid Stuff, though I was told by a friend
recently that he found a KA mixer he wanted at a local store for less.
This really surprised me since I was involved in purchasing a KA mixer
as a group wedding gift a few years back and then Zabar's price was
much better than I could find at any place in/around Boston (and a
couple of other cities around the country).

408.26 | copper bowl for KA | DECLNE::TOWLE | | Fri Dec 17 1993 09:18 | 7 |
| I just got off the phone w/KitchenAid and they say they DON'T have a
copper bowl, and don't recommend using one that may fit into the existing
bowl. You would need to adjust the head of the mixer to accomodate the new
dimensions of the insert so the beaters, etc. don't come in contact
with the bowl.
