WELL...Here goes.... I'm going down to the cape, and I need some
recipes that would be good for camping, as far as dinner and lunch.
*SIMPLE YOU SAY* Heres the clincher... I'm the junk food junkie
of the year and the person i'm going with is a health food nut...
Help... cause our eating style are conflicting.. So any help on
recipes would be greatly appreciated, since i can eat just about
anything.
thanks again
wendy.

The easiest and best thing to do with a campfire is:
In a piece of Al foil wrap:
1 raw hamberger, with or without onion
1 potato sliced thin
1 carrot sliced thin
salt and pepper
Wrap it up and place on the fire, after a while, turn it over.
Depending on how hot your fire is, it takes 20 - 45 minutes. An
extra plus is that it doesn't get any dishes dirty, especially if
you eat out of the foil!
The same process would work for other meats and vegtables, if the
vegtables take long enough to cook - I wouldn't try peas this way.
Happy camping!

This isn't actually a camping recipe, but I don't see why you couldn't
make it, it's easy enough:
Tofu Soup
---------
One can chicken broth and 1 - 1 1/2 cans water
bring to a boil and add:
scallion cut up fine
garlic (powder if that's easier while camping)
1/3 C. white wine
dash soy sauce
1 package tofu, cut into small cubes, about 1" square
Now add what ever else you like,
some frozen peas
fresh spinach
(any quick cooking vegtable)
Simmer until the vegtables are just done.
Enjoy.
