This may not be the place for this question, but I couldn't find a notes file for it. Does anyone have any suggestions to remove coffee stains from clothes? I have a couple of things (that cannot be bleached) that I managed to spill coffee on and they have not come out using commercial stain removers (ie: shout) or liquid detergent directly on the stain. HELP!!! Donna

This sounds like a job for ASKENET! Try EXIT26::SYS$NOTES:ASKENET and/or (if you have VAXNotes) EXIT26::NOTES$LIBRARY:ASKENET_V2 (Sorry, but I've no idea how to get rid of the stains if they've already resisted stain removers.) -b

I just started reading these notes, so my answer is late, BUT, I have had terrific success removing the worst stains with any of the hand cleaners advertised for removing car grease. The one I have at home is called GoJo (or Go-Jo). The products are usually petroleum-based and remove just about any stain while somehow managing not to add petroleum stains to the fabric. By the way, they're also great for washing your hands after you've greased the car, planted your garden, repaired a bicycle chain...

This response is well over a year old, but it may help someone else. Try making a paste of baking soda and a grease cutting dish detergent, I have found it takes out felt marker stains, tea stains, red ink stains and even oil on white bathing suits, when nothing else would work! |
