76.0. "WALKING TACOS" by USMRW1::JTRAVERS () Fri Feb 15 1985 08:36
This is a recipe for a party dip that I tried recently. It's easy to
put together, can travel pretty well, and went like crazy.
Use a pie plate, or some other wide, shallow dish.
The dip is made in layers:
Spread jalapeno bean dip on the bottom of the dish, top the dip with
grated cheddar cheese (or pepper cheese), top this with a layer of
taco sauce, cover the entire mass with sour cream.
On top of the sour cream sprinkle chopped lettuce, tomatoes, challots, etc.
Serve with taco chips.
This dip can be made as mild or as hot as you wish, depending upon the
cheeses and sauces you use.

| I have had this with a layer of Guacamole.
Yum <- That's a statement, not my initials.

| My wife and I have made a variation on this for several years and it is usually
the first thing to be gone.
The layers are:
Bean dip
Avocado w/ lemon juice to preserve color
a mixture of mayo, sour cream and taco seasoning mix
cored, chopped and *DRAINED* tomatoes
chopped black olives
green onions (shallots)
grated cheddar (my wife insists it must be yellow, not white)
Yumm-a-zoo!
Best with plain tortilla chips. The nacho seasoned kind can be a little
distracting.
